Rhinoplasty
Many patients who are interested in remodeling their noses are usually self-aware of the size and shape of their nose or have had a change as a result of trauma. Since it is a three-dimensional structure in the center of the face, the proportions should also blend into the context of the face.
Techniques of Rhinoplasty
1. Closed rhinoplasty

Incisions are made inside the nose, the sugeon first separates the soft tissues of the nose from the underlying structures, then remodels the cartilage and bone.

2. Open rhinoplasty
A small incision is performed across the columella (the piece of skin separating the nostrils), the skin in the lower third of the nose is elevated and the cartilage and bone exposed and reshaped.

Proceidure time:
The procedure lasts in average 60-75 minutes.
Considerations:
Rhinoplasty is usually considered a safe procedure. As with all surgeries there are complications that need to be mentioned. Post-operative bleeding is not common and often resolves without treatment. Infection is rare. Adherences (scar tissue) in the nasal cavity is also rare, but can cause obstruction of the nasal airways and usually need to be removed.
